SadaPay & NayaPay Google Wallet NFC Support
The Direct Answer: Do SadaPay and NayaPay Work with Google Wallet?
No. SadaPay and NayaPay debit cards do not support Google Wallet’s contactless NFC payments (Tap & Pay) in Pakistan. If you try to register a SadaPay or NayaPay Visa/Mastercard card inside the Google Wallet application, the system will return an error stating that the card is not supported for contactless transactions.
This limitation is a common point of confusion for users, as both platforms offer modern digital features. To see a general overview of the digital payment landscape, visit our NFC Payment Pakistan homepage.
Why is NFC/Contactless Tokenization Blocked?
To understand why these cards do not work for phone tap payments, it helps to separate standard card usage from card tokenization. Enabling a card for Google Wallet requires the card issuer (fintech or bank) to establish integration with payment card networks (Visa/Mastercard) and Google’s tokenization servers.
The main technical reasons for the current lack of support include:
Online Transactions vs. Physical Contactless POS vs. Phone Tap
It is important to separate three distinct payment scenarios for SadaPay and NayaPay users:
Online e-commerce purchases work fine. Both SadaPay and NayaPay Visa cards can be saved inside apps like Google Play, Netflix, Spotify, or Uber for card-not-present online checkouts. This does not require NFC tokenization and works on both Android and iPhone.
Physical card tapping at a contactless POS terminal can work. The physical NayaPay Visa debit card includes an NFC contactless chip. If the card’s contactless feature is toggled on inside the NayaPay app, you can tap the physical card directly on a contactless-enabled POS machine. SadaPay physical cards also include a contactless chip, though you should verify the toggle is active in-app. This is physical card tap, not phone-based NFC.

Phone-based Tap & Pay via Google Wallet is blocked. You cannot add either card to Google Wallet and pay by tapping your Android phone at a terminal. This specific path — device tokenization — is what requires issuer-level integration with Google, and neither SadaPay nor NayaPay has completed that integration.
Alternatives for Contactless Tap & Pay
If your primary goal is to pay at physical checkout terminals using your phone’s NFC chip, you have a few practical options in Pakistan:
- Open a bank account with a confirmed Google Wallet issuer: If phone-based tap payments matter to you, a commercial bank account from HBL, Meezan, UBL, Bank Alfalah, or Faysal Bank gives you access today. Check the full list in our Google Wallet Supported Banks Pakistan List or read the Google Wallet Pakistan Setup & Bank Guide.
- HBL, Meezan, or UBL as default options: These banks have broad card type coverage for Google Wallet. Visa and Mastercard debit cards from all three can be used for tap payments once tokenized.
- Allied Bank myABL Tap and Pay: Allied Bank does not support Google Wallet. Instead, it runs its own NFC tap-to-pay feature inside the myABL app. Eligible customers with co-badged UPI/PayPak debit cards can activate it from within the app’s card management section.
- Use your physical NayaPay card at POS: If you have a physical NayaPay Visa card, you can enable contactless in-app and tap it directly at NFC-enabled terminals. This bypasses Google Wallet entirely and uses the chip on the card instead of your phone.

SadaPay & NayaPay Contactless FAQ
Can I tap my physical SadaPay or NayaPay card at a store terminal?
For NayaPay: yes, the physical NayaPay Visa card has a contactless chip. Enable contactless in the NayaPay app settings, then tap the physical card (not your phone) at any contactless-enabled POS. For SadaPay: the physical card also includes a contactless chip, but verify the toggle is active in-app first. In both cases, this is physical card contactless — not phone-based Google Wallet tap.
Will SadaPay and NayaPay support Google Wallet in the future?
Neither provider has announced a release date for Google Wallet tokenization support. This requires formal integration work with Visa/Mastercard tokenization services. Until then, phone-based Tap & Pay via Google Wallet is not available for these cards.
Does SadaPay work with Apple Pay?
No. Apple Pay has not launched in Pakistan for local card issuers. No Pakistani bank or digital wallet currently supports Apple Pay tokenization.
